The most critical location criterion is to locate the air filter before the TripleGuard™ unit so that the active catalytic surfaces and light-emitting surfaces don’t become totally covered with dust that would have been removed by the air filter. Locating the TripleGuard downstream of the blower also assures that the owner should not be able to accidentally see the UV-C light when changing the air filter (because looking at the light can cause eye damage). Furthermore, by locating the TripleGuard unit downstream of the blower and evaporator, the light from the TripleGuard will likely illuminate the evaporator coil, which will help to prevent the formation of contaminates on the surface of the evaporator coil (mold, viruses, bacteria).
